2025 Camping Asia

The third annual event of Camping Asia, co-organized by the Taipei Performing Arts Center and the Centre National de la Danse (CN D), France, is scheduled to take place from Monday, 10 November to Friday, 21 November 2025 in Taipei. The event aims to foster international exchange in dance education, expand diverse professional development opportunities, and strengthen cross-cultural engagement for emerging young dancers.
This year’s program brings together numerous participating institutions from Taiwan and abroad. Domestically, the event includes the School of Dance, Taipei National University of the Arts, along with nine other universities. International participating institutions include seven schools from Austria, France, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Hong Kong. The program features daily “Morning Classes” taught by students from participating schools, as well as “School Marathon” performances that showcase each institution’s artistic and pedagogical characteristics.
In addition, the organizers have invited a range of international and local artists to conduct “Grand Studio Classes,” specialized workshops, performance programs, and film screenings, offering participants a comprehensive and diverse learning environment. A series of forums will also be held, providing opportunities for choreographers, researchers, and educators to engage in dialogue with students, encouraging in-depth reflection on dance creation, educational practice, and contemporary artistic discourse.
The participation period for our university spans two weeks. Sixteen students were selected through a competitive audition process and will attend the event in two groups, each participating in one week of workshops and exchange activities. Through this structure, students will have the opportunity to work directly with international artists, broaden their intercultural perspectives, and further strengthen their professional skills within a rich and varied learning context.
Overall, our participation in Camping Asia will not only expand our students’ international outlook but will also enhance cross-institutional and cross-national collaboration, reinforcing our university’s global presence and visibility in the fields of contemporary dance education and artistic practice.
